Is GRAFFITI getting worst in our city?

We need to spray paint the above below their graffiti.

Lately, everywhere I drive around the city. The tags on the walls are sure looking like an eye sore today than promoting their cause. The graffiti days are so long ago, faded to the 90's and reality is that these creative movement needs to focus on a promotions online. Create a webpage in what you believe in.

A myspace, facebook, here... Wherever. Grant it that creativity of that tagger needs to be expressed but ruining a $5,000 + brick wall or fences, commercial business is not recognizing your group but the people that sees it thinks another eye sore on the wall.

Graffiti is so yesterday. Just an FYI for the little kids that lurks out late at night putting paint on the wall. One neighbor suggested to humiliate the group by putting a formal spray paint that says SUCKS created by IDIOTS.

A simple discussion online like this one will be seen by thousands. And yes, I think to myself. I got my point across without ruining other people's property.

i agree with you on some points. taggers are ruining property. but graffiti artists in delano have permission to do the work they are doing. beauty is in the eye of the beholder. some people think the artwork is beautiful and others do not. if you dont like it, thats fine. but others may like it. you are not gonna like everthing in this world. you have your right to your opinion. Thes grafitti artists have the right to express themselfes just the same. as long as they have permission and are helping kids do something instead of drinking and drugs. im all for it! some of these kids have talent. im glad someone is there to help them realize it!

Garffiti artists do NOT have a right to tag my $1,200 wood fence like they did. That's vandalism pure and simple.

Delano City ordinance prohibits graffiti in the neighborhood even consented by the homeowner's. If city enforces the law, those graffiti are to be removed. I'm all for artistry and don't complain, but with 2 prisons in Delano with thousands of people visiting our city to visit inmates. It sure does bring a wrong signal to the visitors.

Kids has tons of options in the city. There are the skate park, sports, dance studios, golf, and more others related activities. Put it on paper and scan it for all of us to see online.

So many options.

Though there's an ordinance about the graffiti, our city leaders has not acted upon in enforcing fines. TV 23 did a story that the home owners are obligated to take it down which is very costly for the owners.

O well. that's how it rolls. We live w/it.
