Get Married! Gay marriages legit in California

June 17, 2008, thousands of gay couples will head towards the memory lane of marriage in which on June 17, 2008, they will be united legally. Kern doors opens bright early to wed many couples. Of course, there are a lot of people against the measure but it won't be on the ballot 'til November. California Supreme Court stands on its decision for equality... History in the making for sure.

Well, congrats! That's all I have to say...

Here's something to think about....
So on June 17 the marriage is legalized. Many couples (possibly even myself) will get married and live a life that has been well anticipated. A life where gays and lesbians are not singled out into marrying their significant others. But come November 4th, when the elections take place, what if it is reversed? What if (again) gays are not legally considered "married." What happens to those who got married when it was legal? Does it still count as a marriage? Or did all the excitement take place for nothing?
I am all for gay marriage, not only because I'm lesbian, but because it doesn't make any sense why we can't marry our "other-half."
We are not hurting anyone nor disturbing someone's life. I understand the principles that were set from a religious setting. But I don't condem others for their believes or religious standings. Why has it been such a big controversy? Just let (us) marry whom we choose to love. Because its not just about a piece of paper saying we're "married." Its the concept. Just as well as every heterosexual couple decides to marry someone they are "in love" with, what makes it any different? A straight couple can just as well be together without being legally married with a document stating so. BUT NO, they want legal documentation. Well so do we!
For those that are voting, don't vote against it. Its not fair.
